The Wates Merridale Court project at Wolverhampton, on which Churchill’s were engaged for over 18 months, has won project of the year across the entire Wates business. The project at Merridale came out top against the likes of the Grenfell fire team and a further 2000 projects across the country. The award was received at the Chairman’s Award ceremony held on 28th February 2018.
Churchill delivered a vast amount of concrete repairs and re coatings to what was a political and demanding project located in a conservation area. Work undertaken by Churchill’s also saw our specialist steeplejack division employed to access, dismantle and rebuild several chimney stacks located across the sites. Other contracted work completed by Churchill included the rebuilding of a site boundary wall and the dismantling and re building of a number of garages.
The project demanded an extraordinary amount of planning and care to ensure the safety and well being of residents was never compromised, particularity during surface preparation operations and the use of blasting equipment, all of which had to be contained and managed to an extremely high standard.
Churchill would like to offer their congratulations to the Wates team at Merridale and we look forward to working with Wates on similar projects in the future
